In (and throughout) 1987, Jerry, his partner,
Diane Young, and a contingent of over sixty volunteers plan and stage a
multi-media event called 'Art Barn' to benefit the Close Range Gallery
of the Denver Art Museum. The event includes five
highly-recognized surreal painters, dance performances, musical groups
and performance artists. The even is attended on opening night by
nearly 3,000 people and is awarded 'Best Art Event' of 1987 by Westword
Magazine.
Jerry is offered and accepts a teaching position at the new Art Students
League of Denver, which is patterned after the famous Art Students
League of New York City. |
