In the fall of 1989, Jerry and Diane take a
huge leap and move to Pueblo, Colorado to save a failing AM Mexican
radio station. The project starts as a six-month turn-around, but
becomes a nine-year journey. Their innovative work in the market
earns them two separate NAB 'Marconi Award' nominations as best
Spanish-language station of the year (1994 and 1996) and brings
listenership up from dead last in the market to #3 overall.
Throughout these nine years, Jerry continues his work as an artist.
Every week, he drives to Denver to teach a class at the Art Students
League in Denver and to work in the studio he maintains in Denver.
He is also immediately approached on his move to Pueblo to establish a
local gallery affiliation and to schedule a one-man exhibit at the local
Sangre de Cristo Art Center. While his production slows, his works
are routinely selected for touring and museum exhibitions. |
