As Jerry interacts with the professional
artists he meets, he soon realizes he can pursue his art as a career.
However, he also sees that in order to really excel, he needs to take
his training to a much higher level, meaning a real dyed-in-the-wool art
college. Using the GI Bill, Jerry chooses to attend the Rocky Mountain
College of Art in Denver.
By the time he graduates in 1973, he has established the first student
council at the college and has essentially caused the restructuring of
the faculty, bringing in artists who are also good educators. Jerry is
well-respected by both students and instructors and begins showing in
galleries in Colorado, Wyoming and New Mexico. |
